Sales and delivery
How much does a BatteryLoop Energy Storage System (BLESS™) cost?
Get in touch with our sales department for a quote.
Who are your customers?
Commercial and residential real estate, energy companies, industrial companies who are preferably involved with solar and wind.
How much energy usage do I need for your BLESS™ to be suitable?
To know if our BLESS™ is suitable for you as a customer we need information about your energy usage, power usage, grid connection and if you have any plans that can affect your energy-and power usage. This can include installation of PV-panels or charging infrastructure.
As each case is unique, we need to assess every enquiry that comes to us to ensure that a BLESS™ is the right option for your energy needs.
I would like to invest in a battery energy storage system, how do I proceed?
Get in touch with our sales department to initiate a dialogue.
Do you sell BLESS™ to housing cooperatives?
We receive many requests from housing cooperatives, as of today we do not address them.
What is your expected delivery time?
It depends on which kind of BLESS™ you are interested in; the estimated delivery time is approximately 3 months.
Products
How much power and energy does the different BLESS™ contain?
BLESS™ I: 175 kW, 295-590 kWh
BLESS™ III: 2,8 MW, 2,6-3,7 MWh
What is the weight of the BLESS™?
BLESS™ I < 10 ton
BLESS™ III battery container < 36 ton
BLESS™ III inverter container < 19 ton
BLESS™ III cooling container < 16 ton
How are the batteries monitored?
By our Battery Management systems (BMS). We monitor all our batteries, so we always know the state of health of the batteries and make sure they operate in the right range. If the control systems indicate that something does not work as it is supposed to, we will know it directly and if critical the system will shut down immediately.
How is the safety of the system ensured?
The system is designed to guarantee safe and stable operation with round-the-clock monitoring. The BMS (Battery Management System) ensures the safety of the batteries at the module and cell level, if limits are exceeded the system is shut down. The BLESS™ control system ensures that all limit values are respected. In addition to software security, the system also has passive security such as fire protection according to EI60, alarms, lock detectors, fuses, surge protection, etc. Door sensors that stop the system (personal safety) if someone tries to break in, can also be connected to other external alarm devices if needed or desired.
How do I connect the BLESS™ to our facility or grid connection?
For our BLESS™ I you need a cable of 400 V, preferably above 250 A to maximize the potential revenue from frequency trade.
For our BLESS™ III you can connect from 400 V up to 36 kVAC.
Is it possible to stack BLESS™ on top of each other?
To be able to do that we need to place a rack in between, you cannot stack them directly on top of each other.
Is it possible to place a BLESS™ inside, for example, a garage?
Yes, that is possible.
Is it possible to exchange the batteries inside the BLESS™?
Yes, if a battery pack or module stops working, we will see that in our BMS (Battery Management system) and we can exchange that pack/module.
How does the cooling system work?
Depending on the storage, the system is cooled either by air or water.
What do I as a customer need to prepare on my site before installation of a BLESS™?
You need to make sure to have a location for the storage systems and ensure the connection to the switchgear. In some places the authorities require a building permit for the BLESS™.
Which EMS (Energy Management Systems) do you support?
Our BLESS™ products work in conjunction with our BLESS™ Cloud platform, providing an integrated solution to optimize cost vs benefit. Third party EMS-platforms are currently not supported.
Quality and Guarantee
Why are you working with Second-use batteries?
When a battery cannot be used in an electric vehicle it still has 70-90 % left of its capacity, which allows us to use them in our systems.
When using second-use batteries we prolong their life before being recycled. Comparatively, the savings of CO2-emissions compared to buying new batteries is around 100 kg/kWh battery capacity, according to IVL (Swedish Environmental Research Institute)*.
In the BLESS™ the batteries are in a controlled climate and will operate in a less demanding environment than in a vehicle. Thus, enabling to increase the battery lifetime.
How is the quality assured of your batteries if they are second use?
We only work with premium batteries and ensure that all batteries we buy have sufficient quality and capacity.
What is the expected lifetime of your systems?
Depending on the usage and cycling of the batteries, during normal circumstances we expect the batteries to have 70-80 % of the capacity left after 10-15 years.
What guarantees do you have on your product?
We offer a 3-year product warranty and up to 10-years performance warranty on the batteries.
Digital Services
What kind of benefits does your BLESS™ create?
Peak shave: For reduction of the highest peak loads from your infrastructure, reducing power tariffs.
Save solar and wind: Storing overproduction from the solar and wind for usage later, maximizing the benefits of your local electricity production.
Power boost: Enabling more power to your applications, for example fast vehicle charging.
Electricity Trade Services: Optimizing your electricity trading according to fluctuations in price.
Frequency Trade Services: Generating revenue streams by participating in the grid markets for frequency control and restoration.
Flexibility Markets: Generating revenue streams by supporting your local grid, by offering power at the right time.
How can an energy storage system, like the BLESS™, support the electricity grid?
The electricity grid always needs to be in balance between production and consumption. If the demand is higher the production of the frequency will fall and vice versa. An energy storage system can help even out the differences between production and consumption and helps keep the frequency of the grid balanced at 50 Hz. If the frequency drops the storage will discharge to provide power to the gird, and if the frequency increases the battery will instead charge to increase the power demand.
How does your Cloud service work?
With the BatteryLoop service controller the system can both collect and act on measurement data, to deliver power to local functions or adapt to the needs from the power grid. By locally storing the current operating schedule, fast and precise delivery from the energy storage is ensured. From the BatteryLoop Cloud, the energy storage can be both monitored and scheduled. By using the battery’s capacity for several areas of use, the benefit of the energy storage can increase.
How can I earn money from owning a BLESS™?
Through our services you can earn money and save costs with several different applications. We can enable you to reduce your power cost, optimize your energy consumption based on electricity price, earn money by electricity price arbitration, participate in Svenska Kraftnäts frequency trade markets and participate in local flexibility markets.
How does the bidding to Svenska Kraftnät work?
BatteryLoop is responsible for scheduling the BLESS™ and bidding to the Balance Responsible Party or Svenska Kraftnät. As a customer, you only need to provide input as to which hours you want to participate and bid on. If the bids are called off, the energy storage is automatically activated in the event of frequency deviations within the current range.
